service perfection

It shouldn't be difficult to forget. But sometimes it is.

Sales is a service profession.

It has everything to do with helping someone else.

But again, sometimes we forget. How is that possible?

What keeps one from committed service to a prospect or customer in every case?

Is it pride?
(1. the quality or state of being proud: as a: inordinate self-esteem : conceit b: a reasonable or justifiable self-respect)

Is it ego?
(1 : the self especially as contrasted with another self or the world)

In a profession that requires so much confidence and energy to stay positive in the face of prospect rejection, occasional apathy, and rudeness, it can be challenging at times to humbly serve. Sometimes our pride or ego gets in the way – giving us the perceived right to return with arrogance, apathy, or rudeness.

Pride and ego are all about "self." Sales is about helping others.

If you've not already, begin eliminating pride and ego from your sales day. Let nothing stand in the way of world-class service for your prospects and customers (in every case – regardless of circumstances). Everything you do should be done for them.

Sales is, after all, a service profession.
